Here's a quick update from us here at American Dream Records.

The vinyl release of This Day & Age Always Leave The Ground is now finished and currently in transit to us. These will start going out to everyone who ordered a copy sometime between Saturday and Tuesday, depending on the charming people at UPS. These took about an extra week to finish up due to gremlins or something at the place that was printing the art and lyrics insert, but we are now good to go and do appreciate your patience very much. The black 180 gram copies are almost gone, so if you are holding out on picking up a copy, you shouldn't wait too much longer. If fancy colors are more your thing, you can check out a preview picture of the teal variant over on our Facebook page. We'll have high quality pictures to show off as soon as these are in our hands and then you'll be able to see them in all their glory.

In other news, we're running a sale on a few of our other releases. You can pick up a copy of Gold Rush by I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody's Business, Anhedonia by The Graduate, and Hate by Hawthorne Heights all for just ten bucks, and Wild Blood from Lovedrug is at a tempting twelve dollars. There are only two maroon copies of Gold Rush and one Anhedonia test pressing left. We might be biased, but these would make awesome graduation gifts, even if it's to yourself. Once the dust settles from the current release we'll be back to announce our next project, which is another throwback album that a lot of you have asked for.

Hello there, we have a few updates for you today.

You can now pre-order This Day & Age Always Leave The Ground on vinyl. This release is limited to 300 copies, 100 on 180 gram black vinyl and 200 on a fancy looking teal. We have some bundles available where you can grab both copies and save a few dollars, and we also have a few test presses available. These should be in our hands in two weeks and ready to ship out the first week of May, and we'll post some photos as soon as we have them.

Also, in celebration of Record Store Day this Saturday, we will be running a sale starting right now and going all weekend. Enter the code "RSD20" at checkout and get 20% off everything in our webstore aside from the This Day & Age release. Copies of The Graduate Only Every Time and I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody's Business Gold Rush are almost gone, so if you've held back on picking up one of those, now would be a good time to do so before they are gone forever.

Hope everyone has been doing great. If you haven't already seen, we recently released the new album Wild Blood by indie rockers Lovedrug. We put out two exclusive colors, translucent violet and clear, each limited to 100, and the rest are on black. We were very, very excited to do this record as we'd been fans of these guys for quite a while, and we loved the new album. It rocks, it has depth, it has melodoy, and it has the signature Lovedrug sound that if you aren't already familiar with, you should probably fix that and check them out, we've got some songs for preview on the album page in the store. The packaging includes a die cut cover (that means there is a square hole in the center of the jacket) which reveals the artwork on the printed sleeves, and there's a double sized art and lyrics insert. We've got pictures of everything our store, so go take a look and pick up a copy or two.

As for current projects, we are now working on the upcoming release of Always Leave The Ground by This Day & Age, originally released in 2004 on One Eleven Records. Test presses are in, approved, and it was beyond awesome to listen to this album on vinyl for the very first time. We're finishing up the artwork for it and then we'll start production and let you guys know when you can place an order. This is going to be extremely limited with less than 300 copies total for sale, so don't miss out. We're hoping to have this ready by the end of March, but it might be just a little after that depending on a few things. Did I mention how awesome it was hearing this album finally on vinyl?

Oh yeah, you can now grab most everything in the store now for only 12 bucks. We've still got a few splatters of The Graduate - Anhedonia and some more rare variants of the other releases available, so if you've been waiting, now's a good time to snag something. In addition, we've put up a few copies of test presses for all our releases. These are very limited and the quantities range between one and six, depending on the release. These won't last long, so if you are a hardcore fan and want one of these to add to your collection, get one while you can.

It goes without saying that the shipping of the I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody's Business Gold Rush limited edition copies has taken much longer than expected.  We truly apologize for having it take this long to get them out to you.  We finally received the lyric sheets this week, and they will start shipping tomorrow. It was hardly ideal having to wait until this point, but it would not have been ideal to send copies out without the lyric sheets included.  

Ace had a lot happening in his life, between the arrival of a new child and the reunion of The Early November, and while we could have thrown this all on him and said screw it at an earlier point in time, we didn't want to do that.  I don't feel that would have been the best decision to make, but I also realize giving you guys what you want in a timely fashion is what this is really all about.  We're going to be including an additional yellow variant of the album with all of the limited edition orders, so while we can't unwind the clock, we can offer you a little extra to hopefully smooth things over.  

I assure you we were just as frustrated with this delay as you were, and we want to make it clear that nothing along these lines will ever happen again.  In the world of vinyl, there are often delays for many reasons, and after dealing with this we realize we have to operate in a manner to ensure an issue like this does not cause any problem in the future.  We've held back on announcing anything new while we catch up on taking care of this matter and all other current orders because that would not be fair to those of you who who were impacted by this delay.  We are constantly working to improve everything that we do, and again, we apologize for this delay, and we hope you end up satisfied with the release that we created.  We're looking forward to having this taken care of and hope you guys like what we have planned for the rest of the year.

We're back with our October newsletter, and we've got some updates and announcements for you.

Most of the I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody's Business Gold Rush records have been sent out. This is with the exception of some non-USA orders, and unfortunately the Limited Edition 180 gram orders. Why aren't the 180 gram copies shipping yet, you might ask? The answer is because the lyric sheets haven't been completed. Ace is still finishing the lyrics sheets, and in the meantime, doing a ton of other things like reuniting The Early November (if you were not already aware). He's an incredibly busy individual, and while we would obviously want the lyric sheets sooner rather than later, that's how these things go. This is also in combination with the fact that Ace and his wife are preparing themselves for having another baby due any day now. Life happens. I can't get frustrated with the guy for taking his time on finishing a lyric sheet when he is dealing with far more important matters. That said, if for some reason you still don't care and would like to cancel your order and get a refund, send us an email and we'll take care of that for you. These things take time and this has been a very cooperative and hands on project with Ace, so I apologize for the delay, but everyone will get what they ordered once the afforementioned issues are taken care of.

We are now in the process of shipping out copies of The Graduate's Anhedonia. Most of the limited edition copies have gone out, the rest are going out this week. The prints look awesome, and the handwritten/signed lyrics from Corey have all been dispersed in the copies that have shipped. We still have a few copies of the more limited colors available, so check out the store and get them while you can. The band won't be selling them on tour, since there is no tour, since the band is no longer together, so once they are gone, they are gone. You can also pick up one of the remaining copies of Only Every Time for a now discounted price, so if you held off on that, maybe you'll reconsider now.

Our release of Hate by Hawthorne Heights is currently in production at the pressing plant. We ended up doing five colors total, three of which are available for pre-order now through our store. The band will have two colors of their own that they will be selling. The limited edition splatter comes with an autographed poster and access to a webchat/performance with the band that will be held at a later date. If you saw the splatter for The Graduate's Anhedonia (check it out in our picture gallery), it will give you a general example of what we plan on this variant looking like, but even more wild since more colors are involved in the mix. The dudes in Hawthorne Heights were kind enough to give us some goodies to include as bonuses in random limited edition packages so we could continue our Willy Wonka-style giveaways. We have seven drum sticks used during shows to give away, a handful of prints and posters (in addition to the limited edition poster), and for one lucky recipient, a set of sticks and a drumhead autographed by the entire band. It's cool as hell and personally I want to keep it for myself, but it will be going to whoever's name we draw out of the hat. Once again, this is for limited edition purchases only, so snag a copy before they disappear.

That's everything I'm allowed to tell you for now, but we're hoping to share one or two more things with you before the end of the year that may or may not be vinyl related.
